Web Game Review: Duel Of The Duplicates

Hello guys! We are now back with a game review of the latest Ben 10: Omniverse online game, Duel of The Duplicates. This particular game is inspired by The Ultimate Heist, an Omniverse episode that is airing tomorrow at 10.00 AM in the USA. So stay tuned to watch the most amazing three part event of all time. This web game was made by using Java and the sprites are from the Ben 10 game creator. The basic plot is that Albedo has taken over the plumber base and it is up to Ben to stop him. There are three levels to complete and about nine different badges you can earn from this game if you are signed in. I had finish this game when I first played this. This is also the first Ben 10: Omniverse online game which you can use the Omni-Link to control the volume and maybe transform into an alien. This game is a little buggy though. The main screen shows Feedback, Negative Snare-Oh, Negative Echo Echo and a shadow of Negative Ultimate Humungosaur. Here is some things you should know about the aliens playable and their special abilities.

Duel Of The Duplicates Main Screen

Feedback

Feedback is the first alien you unlock. He is the fastest alien playable and can shoot long range. Feedback is also able to walk on electric boxes and open locked doors by shooting them. Feedback's electricity shots are useless against Shielded Echo Echo. He is the weakest alien in the game.

Snare-Oh

Snare-Oh is the second alien unlocked in the game. To transform into Snare-Oh just hold the X key and then the Up Arrow Key. Snare-Oh is capable of walking on bandages without making them drop unlike Bloxx or Feedback. He is also able to hit up to three Echo Echo clones at once. Snare-Oh is also a bit stronger than Feedback as he can defeat a normal Echo Echo clone in two punches whereas Feedback takes three shots. Snare-Oh's jump is higher than any other aliens playable, not mention that he can double jump. Snare-Oh is the most agile alien playable and can be harm by electricity blocks.

Bloxx

Bloxx is the third and final alien that you unlocked. Bloxx is the most strongest alien unlock able as he can defeat any Echo Echo clone with one hit. He can also break Bloxx walls by hitting them once and also the most durable alien. Although he jumps lower and is slower, Bloxx is a great alien to fight as since he can defeat them easily.

 Level One: Engineering

This is the first level where Feedback is the main alien. There are instructions showing how Feedback is used. You have to travel through the slightly trashed Plumber Base while defeating negative Echo Echo clones. Use Feedback to open lock doors and walk on electric boxes. There are 100 Omnitrix symbols to collect and the Boss is Negative Snare-Oh. Although this is suppose to be the easiest level, I failed on it a lot of times.

Level Two: Armory

Armory is the second level of Duel Of The Duplicates. The main alien used is Snare-Oh, the second alien you unlock since defeating Negative Snare-Oh. This level combines electric boxes and doors with most of the challenge is collecting Omnitrix symbols and platforming from bandage to bandage. The shield Echo Echo clones are the main enemies while the Boss is Negative Bloxx.

Level Three: Power Core

This is the final level of this game. The main alien is Bloxx which you unlock from the previous level. The background of the level starts out with a green Plumber Base which gets redder the lower you go. In this level you have to break a lot of Bloxx Walls to get through the base. But do not worry, there is also secret rooms to access by using a combination of Feedback and Snare-Oh. The main enemies is Stacked Echo Echo and the Boss is Negative Ultimate Humungosaur.

Errors And Bugs

  • Teen Feedback looks exactly the same as 11 year old Feedback, this is due to the creators used the same sprites from Ben 10: Game Creator.
  • In the Boss fight with Snare-Oh, if you die and then replay, one Snare-Oh boss is chasing after you and is invincible, but when you enter the the arena, there is another Snare-Oh waiting.
  • The side of the game says that the Space Bar key makes the player jump, however, the game instruction says that the Space Key makes the player attack and that the Up Arrow makes the player jump.

Rating

Well, despite the errors and bugs, it is a fun platformer game and I am happy that Cartoonnetwork is making Ben 10 platformers again with a lot of cool aliens. I am gonna give it an 8/10, if they fix the errors and bugs or add more aliens, I might consider giving it a perfect 10.

That is it! Hope you enjoyed this post, if you did, comment! Do not forget to share! Till the next post, stay awesome!
